Since 2011, Gina Boswell has been leading the multi-billion dollar Personal Care portfolio for Unilever North America, which is made up of hair, skin, and deodorant categories.
Formerly as President, Global Brands for Alberto Culver, Ms. Boswell oversaw all global brands, such as TRESemmé, NeXXus, and St. Ives for this $3.7 billion market cap company, until acquired by Unilever. Prior to Alberto Culver, she held several senior positions at Avon, Ford Motor Company and The Estee Lauder Companies.
Ms. Boswell serves on the boards of Manpower Inc. (NYSE: MAN), Wolverine (NYSE: WWW), YMCA USA, Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), and the Personal Care Products Council. Ms. Boswell was named a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute in 2005. She is a member of the Chicago Network and President of the Yale University Council.
Recently, Ms. Boswell has been recognized as a “Woman to Watch” by Advertising Age, “Marketer of the Year” by Women’s Wear Daily, and “Achiever of the Year” by Cosmetic Executive Women.
Claudia Poccia is President and Chief Executive Officer of Gurwitch Products, the global luxury cosmetics and skincare enterprise best known for its Laura Mercier,® RéVive® and nyakio™ brands.
Since joining the organization in 2011, Poccia has established Gurwitch as one of the leading prestige beauty companies in the world, solidifying her reputation as the industry’s go-to executive for catapulting entrepreneurial brands into industry leaders.
Under Poccia’s leadership, sales of Gurwitch’s hero brands, Laura Mercier and RéVive, have significantly outpaced overall market growth. She has bolstered awareness and exponentially grown each brand in the U.S. and North America – while focusing on global expansion in Latin America and Asia. In 2013, Poccia successfully launched the consortium’s third founder-driven luxury brand, nyakio.
Known as a leader and a mentor in the cosmetics industry, Poccia has built a career on giving back. In September 2012, Poccia and Laura Mercier, founder of the Laura Mercier cosmetics brand, joined together to launch a life-saving mission to shine light on ovarian cancer - a disease that touched both of them through the experiences of loved ones. Together, they established the cosmetics brand’s corporate social responsibility platform - the Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund (LMOCF). The fund is dedicated to raising awareness and funding research and educational efforts that will help diagnose, treat and support women with ovarian cancer.
Poccia previously served as Global President of mark., Avon’s trend beauty and fashion boutique brand, from 2005-2011. During her tenure at the helm of mark., Poccia successfully reinvented the direct selling business model for the next generation of women: she broke paradigms in the digital landscape, leveraging cutting edge applications that monetize social selling through social media platforms. In addition, Poccia developed a world-class mentorship program, pairing interns with top executives, helping to spark the next generation of business leaders.
During her time at Avon, Poccia was also responsible for leading the company’s Global Alliances function and served as President, Avon U.S. Beauty.
Prior to Avon, Poccia spent 11 years with the Estee Lauder Companies, where she was responsible for marketing and sales on the Estee Lauder brand, including V.P. of Business Development and Regional Marketing Director. She was then promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Stila, a leading artistry/trend brand.
Poccia has received numerous honors and awards for her leadership. Most recently, in March 2014, she was named one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in Beauty Inc. for “breathing new life into landmark brands.” In 2012, she was honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Greater New York. In 2010, she was honored by Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) with a 2010 Achiever Award. In addition, she received a Beauty Biz Award from Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) as Innovative Marketer of 2010.
Poccia attended Florida International University and is fluent in Italian and speaks conversational Spanish. She serves on the boards of Cosmetic Executive Women and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
