Katia Beauchamp is the Co-Founder of Birchbox, the discovery commerce company changing the way women shop for beauty and lifestyle products. Through its multi-channel platform, the Birchbox experience features personalized sampling, informative editorial content and a hand-picked online store.

Katia began her career as an entrepreneur after graduating from Harvard Business School in 2010, where she met Hayley Barna, her Birchbox Co­founder. Their connection grew into friendship and the pair’s collaborative idea for Birchbox inspired the company’s debut in September 2010.

Prior to founding Birchbox, Katia worked in structured finance and commercial real estate for three years. Katia’s love for all things beauty and style combined with her skills from a deal-focused and finance background are instrumental in forming partnerships with brands as well as in growing and scaling the Birchbox business.

A native Texan, Beauchamp has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies & Economics from Vassar College.

Katina is the Co-founder & CEO of Manicube, a new start-up company that offers quick, high-quality manicures to women at their place of work. Customers can book appointments and make payments on and $1 from every manicure goes to help fund microloans to women in the developing world via the non-profit organization, Kiva.

Prior to launching Manicube, Katina served as the Site Leader/General Manager of, a prestige beauty e-commerce site. She also launched and managed Sample Society, Beauty Bar’s subscription sampling program and the Beauty Bar flagship store at the Americana Manhasset in Manhasset, NY. Beauty Bar is owned by Quidsi Inc., the owner and operator of multiple consumer e-commerce sites including and Quidsi was acquired by Amazon in April 2011. Prior to her role at Beauty Bar, Katina served as Associate Director of Merchandising for the launch of the beauty categories on

Before joining Quidsi, Katina worked in new brand development and brand management on the hair care team for the L’Oreal Paris brand at L’Oreal USA. She began her career in corporate and investment banking as an Analyst and subsequently Associate at Citigroup’s Corporate & Investment Bank in New York and London.

Katina earned a B.S. degree in finance and economics from the NYU Stern School of Business and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
