Women & Men in Beauty Series - West Coast
QVC Stars Everyone knows QVC can mean big business for a beauty brand. But nobody knows better than the shopping channel's Merchandising Director and two of her star performers.

Liz Garrett
President, philosophy
|
Liz is British by birth, and is a 28 year veteran of the beauty industry.
Having studied French at university, and after a year in container shipping, Liz joined Lancome in the UK in March 1983. Over a 17 year stint at Lancome, she held a var iety of marketing and sales roles finishing her time there as the commercial director for Lancome UK.
Liz joined Coty in 2001 as the general manager of the UK and Irish subsidiary. At the time she joined, Coty had a small, struggling business in the UK, but thanks to the happy circumstance of her arrival at the same time as the signing of the Jennifer Lopez license, the business flourished and in her 10 year tenure in the UK, the subsidiary was one of the fastest growing and most profitable in the Coty universe.
Liz was chairman of CEW (UK) for a 2.5 year term and a recipient of an achiever award in 2009.
Following Coty’s acquisition of Philosophy in December 2010, Liz was invited to head up the philosophy business as president in April 2011. The objective is to not only oversee the dynamic development of the us business, but also to implement the internationalization of the brand with strong emphasis on Anglo-Saxon markets and Asia. |

Mally Roncal
President/Creator, Mallygirl LLC/dba Mally Beauty
|
Celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal learned at an early age the importance of accepting – and loving – who you are. Growing up in upstate New York, her parents instilled in her the philosophy that “the things that make us different are the qualities that make us beautiful.” This statement has become the mantra by which Mally lives and the power behind it has led to her incredible success. As a young girl, Mally began experimenting with color and makeup on her mother, an incredible beauty who undoubtedly served as her inspiration. Motivated by her parents, both doctors, Mally pursued a pre-med education, yet she never abandoned her inner passion for art, makeup and fashion. Luckily, with encouragement and inspiration from mentors (including fashion stylist team Mathu and Zaldy, and celebrity hair stylist Danilo, whom she met while designing for Kalinka), Mally soon put aside her pre-med education to pursue her ultimate dream – exploring the power of makeup.
Mally quickly moved to the top of the “it” list of “who’s who” in the beauty industry, quickly becoming one of the industries most dynamic and in demand talents. With her passion for art, color, and design, along with her charm, contagious enthusiasm and magnetic personality, it is no wonder that some of the world’s top celebrities turn to her to prepare for their most important career moments. Mally has also been featured on Oprah, the Today Show, Isaac, the View, and many more.
Mally has a natural ability to make her clients not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful. This has made her a favorite among a versatile group of music industry heavyweights and actors including; Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Hayden Panettiere, Rihanna, Teri Hatcher, Celine Dion, Lee Ann Womack, and Ashlee Simpson.
Top magazines also routinely turn to Mally for her flawless makeup technique, incredible beauty tips and witty copy. According to her long-time agent Jim Indorato, “Mally has a unique relationship with everyone she touches. She gives them the support and love to believe in themselves, which ultimately effects how they look and feel.”
Mally has the ability to create a diverse range of looks from natural and elegant, to colorful and ultra-glamorous. Her beauty philosophy emphasizes healthy, breathable skin that looks flawless and dewy. According to Mally, “Makeup is simply the accessory that allows someone’s true nature and beauty to outwardly manifest itself.”
Now, with the introduction of the Mally Beauty makeup collection, Mally takes her message, and her makeup to women everywhere. Both reinforce the positive energy that is Mally, who believes that “if you do what you love, and you follow your dreams, they can become a reality.” And that’s a beautiful thing! |
