Renato Semerari
President, Coty Beauty

As President of Coty Beauty, Mr. Semerari manages all of Coty's brands available in mass distribution in the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. As part of his role, Mr. Semerari seeks new business ventures and collaborations, as well as over sees the continued development and expansion of the portfolio. He also serves on the Executive Committee of Coty Inc.
Mr. Semerari started his career in 1986 with Procter & Gamble, where he held a series of positions of increasing responsibility. While at P&G, he worked in the marketing department for personal care, oral care, skin care, paper and detergents, in both Italy and the United Kingdom. In 1999, he moved to LVMH as International Marketing Director of Parfums Christian Dior in charge of marketing development for fragrance, make-up and skin care. He then joined Guerlain in January 2002 as President and CEO leading the company to steady and profitable growth.
Prior to his appointment at Coty, Mr. Semerari served as the President and CEO of Sephora Europe since October 2007. In this role he fueled his knowledge of retail, was responsible for 12 subsidiaries and an extensive store network. During his tenure, Sephora grew rapidly in pre-existing markets while geographically expanding into new countries. In 2008, Sephora scored record gains in market share and profit, and continued this strong trend into the first quarter of 2009.

Catherine Walsh

Coty Prestige’s Catherine Walsh is the visionary behind the company’s elite designer and celebrity fragrance portfolio and has helped architect Coty Prestige’s evolution as an industry trailblazer for the past decade. She has earned a reputation as a game changer for her foresight in predicting the next big thing in the category, and her fresh and innovative ideas.
Her signing of Jennifer Lopez and the blockbuster 2002 launch of Glow by JLo effectively built the celebrity fragrance category. The brand has generated over 2B in sales over the past 10 years and led to a myriad of other celebrity launches under Ms Walsh’s guidance, including successful partnerships with Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwen Stefani.
When she signed Balenciaga in 2008, it was Coty Prestige’s first foray into high fashion and helped to build the company’s roster of coveted designer brands and solidified her reputation for having a keen understanding of fashion brands and how to translate them to fragrance.
Ms. Walsh’s achievements extend beyond the fragrance category, and include having led the Lancaster skin and suncare brand, where she introduced its 365 line, which remains the brand’s best-selling product ten years after its launch. She also helped establish a strong platform for the color category within Coty Prestige with the 2012 global launch of ck one color cosmetics.
As Senior Vice President of Marketing, she oversees an enviable portfolio of globally successful and relevant brands, including Calvin Klein - the #1 licensed beauty brand in the world - Marc Jacobs, Jennifer Lopez, Vera Wang, and Balenciaga. Year after year, her brands are highly celebrated, receiving accolades from countless industry and editorial organizations. Her relationships with designers and celebrities, passion for the art of design and sharp consumer insight produce products which are beloved throughout the world. |
