Luxurious Korean skin care brand AmorePacific is officially launching at Bloomingdales 59th Street today, Tuesday, June 9. An official ribbon cutting ceremony this morning kicked off the brand’s entrée into the department store’s flagship, where Beauty Insider was able to chat with Kamilla Khanbalinova, Director of Sales, AmorePacific US, about the milestone.

Beauty Insider: Talk about what the move into Bloomingdale’s flagship means for the brand?
Kamilla Khanbalinova: We’ve been available in Bergdorf Goodman in the U.S. since 2003 and have also strategically maintained limited distribution in 30 select Neiman Marcus doors as well as on NeimanMarcus.com; 27 Nordstrom doors and 164 Sephora doors. This move shows how it was time for the brand to reach out to a bigger base of tourists and the global consumer. It’s one of the most inviting stores in Manhattan for consumers visiting from other countries.

BI: What will the counters look like? Will it offer any services?

KK: The counter will debut the brand’s new marketing imagery, which focuses on deep greens and gold in a very luxurious manner. An aesthetician who was trained in Seoul will do complimentary facials, as well as arm and hand massage. The services are not just for those who are buying the product, it’s meant to be a free service to introduce consumers to the brand.
