Hairstylist Oribe Dies
Celebrity Hairstylist Oribe Canales has passed away. The Cuban-born hairstylist to the stars reportedly suffered liver and kidney failure in a hospital after going to New York for cancer treatment last month, his husband, Zaki Amin, said. He was 62. Messages and tributes for the handsome stylist, who at one point also owned a salon in Miami Beach, flooded Instagram Monday, from peers including Ric Pipino, Frederic Fekkai and Sally Hershberger, to celebrities Jennifer Lopez and Cindy Crawford. Oribe started an eponymous hair care company in 2007 alongside industry veterans Teyva Finger and Daniel Kaner. The brand, which operated under Luxury Brand Partners, was sold to Kao in December 2017.

Also, the company has hired a new President, Eric Coles, formerly of Stella Rising. Eric will report to Carrie Gross, CEO.
