Counter Brands, LLC, parent company of Beautycounter, has announced the appointment of Gina Boswell to its Board of Directors. Most recently, Gina was President, Customer Development, Unilever North America.

Gina is a beauty industry veteran. In addition to her work at Unilever, which also included her serving as CEO, Unilever UK & Ireland and EVP, Personal Care, North America, she was President, Global Brands, of Alberto-Culver and SVP & COO of Avon Products North America. Before she entered the beauty industry, Gina held senior leadership positions with other global companies, including Ford Motor Company.

Beautycounter Founder and CEO, Gregg Renfrew, said, “Beautycounter continues to lead the next generation of beauty through our safer products, sustainability, transparency, and community, and I am thrilled to have someone as experienced as Gina join our Board. Gina’s Board appointment is effective immediately. She joins current Board members, including John Replogle, Bill Schwartz, Bryan Wolf, Candice Kislack, Parker Hayden and Margot Fooshee.
Gina also serves on the Board of Directors of Wolverine Worldwide and ManpowerGroup.

The direct-to-consumer brand generated an estimated $300 million-plus in 2018 via 45,000 consultants from more than 150 products in the skin and color categories. The company’s mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone and improve transparency and accountability in the beauty industry, including advocacy to update federal regulations that have stood largely unchanged since 1938. Beautycounter now also operates two brick and mortar stores, one in Manhattan and one in Denver.
