Skylar, the premium clean fragrance brand, has tapped Bernard Zion as Chief Marketing Officer. The appointment became effective June 1. Bernard will report to Cat Chen, Founder and CEO. The LA-based brand was founded in 2017 for people with skin sensitivities.

Bernard joins Skylar from The Estée Lauder Cos. where he led the marketing teams at
Smashbox Cosmetics and Bumble and bumble. At Smashbox, Bernard led brand and product
strategy. At Bumble and Bumble, he launched the brand into prestige retail in Sephora while
maintaining its strong position in the salon channel. Prior Lauder, Bernard held marketing leadership roles at L’Oréal on the L’Oréal Paris brand.

At Skylar, Bernard will lead all aspects of marketing as the company enters a growth phase with its expansion into scented body and personal care categories in partnered retail.

Just three years old, Skylar launched on its own website with a line of fine fragrances, and has expanded into an innovative scent club subscription model, a line of personal care products, and partnerships with retailers such as Sephora and Anthropologie.
