A banquet-style lunch – cobb salad to be precise – never tasted so good.

For the first time in three years CEW held court for the beauty industry with an in-person luncheon at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan announcing the winners of its 29th annual Beauty Creators Awards. The awards recognize the year’s most innovative beauty products and the creators behind them. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, programming for the 2020 and 2021 awards were held virtually.

Hosted by Cheddar News’ Hena Doba, winners were announced across 33 categories from more than 1,200 product entries representing more than 800 brands.

CEW’s beauty awards program is differentiated by the fact that the finalists and winners are voted on by beauty industry experts — executives who know what goes into making a gangbuster product. Consumers view the winners of CEW’s beauty awards as true innovators since they’re voted on by marketers, product developers, and scientists.

Some highlights from the winner’s list came from several specialty award categories.  The winner of the Sustainability Excellence Award was UpCircle Beauty, which is presented by Firmenich. Additionally, the Indie Brand Award was presented to Summer Fridays by Financo Raymond James. SymHair Thermo from Symrise won the Supplier’s Award: Ingredients and Formulation, presented by the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC).

There were three award categories voted on by consumers, The People’s Choice Awards. Consumers voted on Influencer of the Year, which was awarded to Mariale Marrero; Retailer of the Year, which was awarded to Amazon; and Launch of the Year, which was awarded to Olay Regenerist Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Hydrating Moisturizer.
