More than 1,000 beauty professionals gathered Saturday night to hear the winners of Beauty Pitch 2016, the contest awarding beauty entrepreneurs for their business model and growth opportunities, created by Cosmoprof North America and the Professional Beauty Association (PBA). Beauty Pitch finalists were judged by a live panel of experts at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, including John Paul DeJoria, Kevin Harrington, Elle’s Emily Dougherty and Time Inc.’s Deanna Kaczerski.

In the Startup category, Sunlights Balayage, Inc. was awarded $5,000 by The Kirschner Group, Inc. Sunlights Balayage is a hair lightening kit that’s sold to stylists to help them perfect the popular art of hair painting. The company was founded by Candy Shaw, a veteran hairstylist, who said she created the kit to evolve the foil highlighting technique typically used by colorists. The kit is often referred to as the Balay Box.

In the Established Category, P3 Pure was awarded $10,000 by TSG Consumer Group to help grow its natural range of aluminum-free deodorants, Primal Pit Paste. Founded by Amy Cazin, P3 Pure looks to change the way consumers think about and use deodorant.

Beauty Systems Group (BSG) selected O.R.G Skincare for a distribution partnership whereby the brand will be sold on BSG’s online platform and in 1,200 stores nationwide.The Asian skin care brand manufactures mineral peels for face and body, as well as an oxygen face cleanser with collagen.

Alexandria Professional, which makes body sugaring and skin epilation products, was awarded the Audience Choice Award. The company will receive a booth at CPNA 2017 and a one-year PBA Membership.
