The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. is continuing its buying spree with the recent announcement that it is to acquire Becca Cosmetics.

The global beauty firm paid around $200 million for the business, which was founded in 2001 and is set to generate approximately $80 million in revenue in 2016.

Becca Cosmetics is majority owned by Luxury Brand Partners, which also owns beauty brands Oribe and R&Co.

The acquisition is expected to close in November 2016.

Becca is best known for its primers, concealers, foundations, blushes and highlighters that use the beauty of light to enhance the complexion. Most of the brand’s foundations are available in up to 20 shades, with half designed for medium to deep tones and half designed for light to medium tones.

The brand gained fame in 2015 for its now-iconic Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop, as a result of a collaboration with celebrated makeup artist and YouTube sensation Jaclyn Hill. Becca has been led by President and CEO Robert DeBaker since 2011.

John Demsey, Executive Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., will add Becca Cosmetics to the portfolio of brands that he oversees.
