Estée Lauder is transforming the way the company connects with its Beauty Advisors and sales teams by launching an Augmented Reality Training (ART) program using YouCam’s AR technology. The brand’s Global Brand President, Stephane de La Faverie, called the new program a “turning point in beauty education.”

Through the interactive live stream platform, Estée Lauder’s Global Education team will be able to host real-time trainings and product briefings to thousands of employees on a global scale. During a session, Beauty Advisors will be able to virtually try on looks discussed, follow along slide show presentations and ask questions, all from their mobile devices. In addition to education, the brand also plans to use the app to track attendance, engagements and overall performance of the trainers and participants.

This new training initiative builds on two other AR projects Estée Lauder launched in partnership with YouCam. In April, the brand utilized the app’s face mapping technology to give customers in the UK the ability to try on 30 shades of its Pure Color LOVE lipstick in 30 seconds within select stores. Since then, the brand has rolled out the technology on over 800 in-store devices and on the YouCam app, globally. Additionally, at an influencer event this December, Estée Lauder debuted YouCam’s “Look Transfer,” which recognizes the makeup shades used on models in the brand’s advertising campaigns, and allows consumers to recreate the look via YouCam’s Virtual Try-On. Consumers will have access to “Look Transfer” in-store and through the app in 2018.
