The Hut Group has acquired eye cosmetics brand, Eyeko, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 1999 as a multi-category make-up brand, Eyeko later evolved into an award-winning leader in eye products, after its founders Max and Nina Leykind saw a gap in the market for high-performance eye items. The brand makes mascaras, liquid liners and brow gels, and is sold in multiple countries including the U.K., the U.S., Australia and Europe in Ulta Beauty, Selfridges, Space NK and Sephora. The brand, which uses its British heritage and Korean expertise to deliver innovation, is also available direct-to-consumers through eyeko.com and THG-owned lookfantastic.com.

The acquisition brings further strategic investment in THG’s international beauty offering as Europe’s largest retailer of premium beauty products – including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauderand Lancôme – through Lookfantastic.com. The firm also owns a host of luxury beauty brands including Mio Skincare, Mama Mio, Grow Gorgeous, Illamasqua, ESPA, and GLOSSYBOX, the last three of which were acquired in 2017. In 2016, posted sales of $681 million, with international sales growing by 89% to $429 million.

Nina Leykind, Founder of Eyeko said, “I’m confident in THG’s digital and marketing expertise and expect great things for the brand.”
