Earlier this month Swiss luxury skin care brand, La Prairie, invited editors to Tribeca’s Spring Studios to celebrate the launch of its latest launch, Skin Caviar Essence-in-Foundation SPF 25, a liquid compact foundation infused with caviar. The product features the first compact foundation infused with caviar water and sun protection, and includes a cutting-edge application system of airless technology to ensure a perfect dose with each use.

La Prairie’s caviar franchise is highly successful, and isn’t just limited to makeup. The Skin Caviar range includes a full skin care collection, offering everything from eye cream to essences. While many SPF-spiked cushion compacts exist, especially in the K-Beauty world, few luxury makeup brands offer liquid versions. Plus, with the shift towards more natural-looking makeup, this soft-coverage, portable option will resonate with consumers. Uncomplicated, perfectly portable makeup, skin care and self-care items are all the rage with today’s gym-to-work-to-drinks lifestyle. The new base comes in 11 refillable shades.

The formula blends amino-acid treated pigments and soft-focus powder for an imperfection-concealing fluid that evens out skin tone in a natural way. With easy blending and a flexible buildup of coverage, the foundation contains caviar water, caviar extract, caviar peptides and SPF 25 to help support skin’s firmness and hydration while protecting it from UV rays.

The high-tech, airless packaging keeps the product sealed from light and air to protect the foundation from spilling all of its caviar-enhanced goodness, but also to help it remain fresh. A single press releases a perfect, no-spill application of foundation. The compact includes an additional refill, plus a second washable puff treated with anti-microbial technology.

For the Skin Caviar Essence-in-Foundation launch, La Prairie worked with three leading makeup artists from three global regions – North America, Europe and Asia – to act as La Prairie Complexion Artist Ambassadors. The partnership with celebrity makeup artists Mai Quynh, Georgina Graham and Alvin Goh helped the brand develop application techniques and deliver masterclasses on Complexion Artistry.
