L’Oréal’s Lancôme brand has partnered with the NAACP to provide a scholarship fund for 30 young women of color entering college in the 2022 academic year. The Write Her Future Scholarship Fund at NAACP in partnership with ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) will award Regional Grants of $10,000 each and embodies the brand’s global commitment to empowering women. Specifically, the Fund represents Lancôme’s dedication to ensuring women of color have the necessary tools and education to pursue their dreams.

“While many programs currently address childhood literacy and education needs, we felt it is vital to support young women to go onto higher education and receive career development, which is why Lancôme USA is proud to partner with the NAACP on our Write Her Future program,” said Stuart Leitch, President, Lancôme USA.

Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong, who was tapped as the first Black ambassador for the brand in 2014, announced the program in a video message, where she detailed her educational journey and Lancôme’s commitment to funding programs to help achieve equity in education. The video can be viewed here.

The Write Her Future Scholarship Fund will consist of both in-person and online training programs at local levels (over 200 across the US). As part of the program, Lancôme will provide mentoring, workshops and internship opportunities to award recipients. To learn more, please click here.
