It’s August, which means that as soon as someone steps outside, their hair will give in to the forces of nature that comes along with summer weather, including stifling heat and humidity. The result: unruly frizz, dull strands and loss of moisture. But the beauty industry is never at rest, and already has products and services on tap to cater to the season’s hair care needs. Take a look at what’s in store to keep locks smooth, hydrated and on point.

Style Stars Moves to NoMad: Uber hairstylists Sally Hershberger and Tim Rogers are teaming up with skin care clinic The Face Place to break ground on a new 5,000-square-foot beauty haven offering everything from blowouts, balayage, facials, manicures and pedicures. The new spot, to be called Sally Hershberger | Tim Rogers Salon, is located at 25 West 26th Street and opens mid-September. The salon will exclusively use Sally’s professional hair care line, 24K. Charcoal wood floors, stainless steel hardware and south-facing windows are planned to decorate the space, along with 28 chairs. Sally’s iconic Downtown Salon in the Meatpacking District closed August 13. Sally said of the move: “After nearly 14 years in the Meatpacking District I decided it was time to switch things up. The general feel of the neighborhood changed…lots of tourists and tour buses going by. Every detail of the new NoMad space represents my specific vision. I’m excited to create new experiences with my beauty dream team giving our clientele the best of the best in the industry.”
