Target has become the first mass retailer to make its products available through Instagram Checkout, meaning shoppers on the retailer’s IG @Target and @TargetStyle accounts can make a purchase with just a few taps.

“More and more guests are searching for digital shopping options, and we’re continuing to invest in experiences that allow them to get what they need from Target whenever, wherever and however they want,” said Dawn Block, Senior Vice President, Digital. “We know our guests are already using Instagram, so we’re making it even easier for them to find and buy the quality, affordable products they expect from Target.”

Instagram and Target collaborated to set up a virtual store to make product discovery-to-purchase seamless in the app using technology designed by Target’s tech team. Each shoppable post is marked with a shopping bag icon in the corner. From there, guests can tap on a product, modify it (choose color or size, if applicable) and check out—all without leaving Instagram. Shoppers will need to enter shipping and payment information for their first purchase only at checkout. After that, shoppers can complete the entire process with just two clicks.
