E-commerce destination Thirteen Lune has raised $3 million in a funding round led by Fearless Fund, a venture capital firm founded by women of color with the goal of specifically supporting women of color-led businesses seeking pre-seed, seed level or series A financing. To date, Fearless Fund has made investments in Range Beauty, Amp Beauty LA, Hairbella, Slutty Vegan Nudies, and more.

The investment will be used to accelerate the production of Thirteen Lune’s private label line (launch date to be announced), as well as aid in improvements to its supply chain and build a more robust executive team. The announcement comes on the heels of its first brick-and-mortar partnership with JCPenney which aims to bring BIPOC-owned beauty brands to 600 locations by 2023, while expanding its omni-channel presence.

Founded by Nyakio Greico and Patrick Herning, Thirteen Lune was designed to inspire the discovery of beauty brands started by Black and brown founders. This December, the brand will be celebrating its one-year anniversary and is on track to sign on its 100th brand to its roaster of 90 percent BIPOC-owned beauty brands and 10 percent ally brands.

In January, Thirteen Lune announced a friends and family raise of $1 million. Investors included Sean Combs, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gregg Renfrew, Naomi Watts, Ambassador Nicole Avant, Tracey Cunningham, and Patrick Finnegan.
