With the mission of establishing an unbiased forum for women looking for the best anti-aging remedies, in 2008 Marta Wohrle created Accord Media to publish Truth in Aging, a website dedicated to these matters.

“I felt that the demographic of women over the age of 45 were increasingly interested in healthy beauty aging, and they had the money to get what they wanted, but there wasn’t a lot of good information available to tell them what to buy,” Marta said. She then set out to create an ingredients directory of nearly 2,000 ingredients.

And instantly, a community was formed.

In 2009, Truth in Aging was born and has since blossomed into a website that offers truthful guidance on everything from skin care to health care to how to improve physical health. The site has its users (both men and women) test every product featured on the site for at least 30 days, who then write an objective review based on their experiences. The site does not pay reviewers for their reports, it merely supplies them samples for a test drive.

“People are so emotional over products. I needed to harness this enthusiasm and have them write reviews,” Marta said.

Originally from England and now based in New York, Marta, a former journalist, parlayed her writing chops by blogging on the site she created, ultimately garnering fans and followers who brought their own set of questions and suggestions for the site. Eventually, indie brands began reaching out to Marta for reviews by her readers, and relationships were fostered.

In 2010 an e-store was established, selling many of the brands that were reviewed. Today, the average retail basket is about $120.

And of course, like many of editors who oversee sites that talk about and review products—and where consumers reveal what they want but can’t find— a Truth in Aging product line was launched.

Truth in Aging markets three products: Truth Vitality Brow Empower, Truth Vitality Lux Renew and Truth Vitality True Volume.

Truth Vitality True Volume is a three-step treatment system that aims to strengthen and improve hair growth by using specific ingredients, including copper peptides, to increase cellular reproduction. It includes a shampoo ($29), conditioner ($35) and a hair growth serum ($49).

Truth Vitality Lux Renew ($279) is the first FDA-cleared device for the treatment of full facial wrinkles and acne, using ultrasound and red and blue LED light therapy.

And, Truth Vitality Brow Empower ($39) is designed to restore eyebrow growth due to overplucking or unwanted shedding of brows.

Marta is proud of the site she’s created, which now realizes 400,000 unique visitors per month with the average demographic being women 45-years old.
