Friday morning it was announced that a Canadian judge ruled to oust Deciem founder Brandon Truaxe from the company’s Board of Directors and from employment at the firm, which is minority-owned by The Estée Lauder Cos. The ruling follows a suit filed by Lauder earlier this week seeking the removal of Brandon from the company’s board and as Chief Executive Officer after he unilaterally decided to shut the business down on Monday.

Co-CEO Nicola Kilner will step up as the sole, interim CEO, and Deciem operations are expected to resume as soon as possible.

The Canadian company, which launched in 2013 and has a growing portfolio of more than 50 products in over 15 markets, is projected to earn $300 million in sales in 2018.
