The trend for customization has hit the mass market with the launch of Match Made, a new in-store service from makeup brand No7. The free service looks to help consumers find their perfect foundation, lipstick or blush shade in less than 15 seconds—with the help of a beauty consultant— via a camera that measures the precise color, tone and intensity of the skin. Match Made will be available in about 2,000 Walgreens and Target stores nationwide, and will be serviced by the more than 2,000 No7 beauty consultants employed across the US.

No7, the UK’s leading beauty brand known for affordable, high-quality cosmetics and skin care, spent more than four years measuring the skin color of almost 3,000 women and then used the data to develop the service along with a range of skin-true foundation shades. Based on the reading, it suggests the perfect shade in the No7 foundation, lipstick and blush family, and then a beauty consultant recommends a final product.
