The Connected Consumer is a feature series focusing on digital as it touches the beauty consumer. On November 14, CEW will host its second annual The Connected Consumer Conference, presenting speakers from the most relevant brands, retailers and forecasting agencies discussing the latest trends in digital and social media.

Perfect Corp. and Cosmopolitan have paired AR makeup try-on technologies from YouCam Apps, with content and visuals from Cosmopolitan in an effort to transform the way readers engage with editorial and branded content. Beginning with the October issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, readers can snap a photo of a special QR code tied to the branded content, bringing them to a unique destination on Cosmopolitan.com where they’ll be able to choose a try-on experience and test out the look utilizing YouCam Makeup facial mapping technology. The content for the debut issue pairs an eight-page native content package with Macy’s to a beauty look designed by Cosmo editors that was created with Juicy Couture cosmetics. The first-of-its-kind, virtual try-on feature also allows readers to shop the products directly from the page, creating a seamless e-commerce shopping experience.

YouCam technology will be featured in future print issues of Cosmopolitan and digital features on Cosmopolitan.com, and will be integrated into sister publications Seventeen and Women’s Health beginning in 2019.
