Shrankhla Holecek is a long-time Ayurvedic expert who educates on Ayurvedic traditions with contemporary sensibility and advises audiences on the addressing the most pressing modern-day challenges in today’s cluttered beauty space. A lifelong vegetarian, yogi and natural-medicine practitioner, Shrankhla grew up in India with a strong foundation in the ancient science of Ayurveda. Shrankhla brings over 15 years of extensive training and understanding in the therapeutic benefits of botanicals, especially as they apply to Ayurveda. She hails from a family of generational veterans who have mastered the craft of organic essential oil production and have supplied some of the world’s leading luxury beauty brands for decades. Shrankhla moved to Los Angeles about ten years ago for her MBA, after which she spent several years in management consulting. In her high-pressure job, Shrankhla saw increasing demands on her time, energy, and body and like many others, she witnessed the toll those demands took on her appearance and wellbeing. Exhausted by topical creams and one-off medications, she went back to her basics, creating a line of natural skincare and wellness products that bridged her past and her present – Uma. In addition to serving as a media expert on essential oils and Ayurveda, she is also a regular contributor to natural health media outlets like Well & Good, Byrdie, Mind Body Green, Refinery 29 and Chalkboard Magazine.

Priya Venkatesh, a highly experienced prestige beauty retail leader, serves as Sephora’s Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Skincare and Hair. In her 14-year tenure, Venkatesh has focused on category vision and development, including building a robust brand portfolio of indie, emerging, clean and classic brands while driving innovation in formulation offerings, product and services experiences at Sephora. Under Venkatesh’s leadership, Sephora’s Skin and Hair business has grown dramatically, ensuring these areas play an integral role in the retailer’s instore and digital experience offerings for clients. She has developed and executed many successful initiatives, including the launch of “Clean at Sephora,” a new category that provides a clear point of view on the clean beauty category and Sephora’s offering across 50+ brands and 2,000 products, Skin IQ, an instore skincare solutions diagnostic tool, national skincare services featuring complimentary Mini Facials, and introduced a range of high performing brands including Algenist, Boscia, Bumble and bumble, Dr. Jart, Drunk Elephant, Dyson, Farmacy, Glam Glow, Living Proof, Olaplex, Summer Fridays and Sunday Riley. Prior to her current role at Sephora, Venkatesh was a clinical skincare merchant and before joining Sephora, she was the Director of Makeup at The Body Shop. Venkatesh earned a Masters in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and currently resides in the Bay Area.
