Sustainability Principle 1: How does your entry help to reduce or eliminate the build-up of substances from the earth’s crust?

Raw material extraction/processing
The use of shea butter, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil and berry wax materials are renewable / agricultural resources. This is over 75% of the product.
Creation/Production
The production process minimizes energy use by the use of basic mixing. Heating is used minimally.
Packaging/Distribution
The entire package is designed for recycle or reuse. An inner velvet bag is used for shipping protection and then the end user uses it for storage / travel (example is use as a travel jewelry bag).
Use and end of life
One of the first uses of the TAG bottle system (airless bag in glass bottle) allows ease of recycling and less plastic use, as it is a glass bottle.

Sustainability Principle 2: How does your entry help to reduce or eliminate accumulation of substances produced by society?

Raw material extraction/processing
The ingredients are used with application.
Creation/Production
Production materials are recycled whenever applicable.
Packaging/Distribution
By reducing labels and inserts, we have decreased necessary shipping materials.
Use and end of life
All packaging and materials are meant for recycle, reuse, and repurpose.

Sustainability Principle 3: How does your entry help to reduce or eliminate the physical degradation of nature?

Raw material extraction/processing
Over 75% of our ingredients are of agricultural origin. They are renewable through farming and/or gathering.
Creation/Production
The manufacturing process uses only electricity for running one motor.
Packaging/Distribution
The packaging process uses no electricity (other than lighting, room heating, and room cooling), heating, cooling, or air pressure. It is a manual system at this time.
Use and end of life
All of the packaging used in biodegradable.

Sustainability Principle 4: How does your entry help to reduce or eliminate conditions that undermine people’s capacity to meet their basic human needs, in your company, in your supply chain, and the communities in which you operate?

Raw material extraction/processing
Over 75% of our ingredients are of agricultural origin and derived mainly from the Third World.
Creation/Production
The production process relies on human effort for weighing and moving of materials. An electric motor is used only for mixing.
Packaging/Distribution
The packaging is now down with human labor and is not yet automated.
Use and end of life
The product is composed of six ingredients plus colorants. We believe this helps promote the health of women rather than the 30 ingredient cocktail in most existing foundations.
