What motivated you to start your company?
As a veteran beauty and wellness editor and influencer, I often have brands asking to “pick my brain” and so I decided to start taking the consulting part of my work more seriously. The JM Collective is an extension of my company, Jeannine Morris Media, LLC., where I focus on consulting for indie brands as well as big names such as Proctor & Gamble, Unilever and L’Oreal to name a few.
What advice do you have for indie brands?
I have so much advice for indie brands especially in the beauty space, but the most general that everyone can use is to authentically find your voice. It may take some time, but developing a strong mission statement and personality that’s reflected from packaging to social media is essential.
What are your sources of inspiration?
As an entrepreneur in a creative field, I seek inspiration from so many places. I’m inspired by stories of successful entrepreneurs, the followers of my blog and Instagram account, spiritual leaders and music.
What do you hope to give back by being an Indie Advisor?
I’m excited to mentor indie beauty brands as they develop and get such satisfaction watching them succeed.
